Sustainable Criminal Justice Solutions (SCJS) is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company established in 2011. The company specialises in international capacity building initiatives with a strong focus on the rule of law, security, and public sector delivery. Working in partnership with governments, public authorities, academic institutions, and international organisations, SCJS delivers programmes supporting public services, justice and security systems, and international cooperation. SCJS operates with a core team of professionals who bring significant experience from the justice, law enforcement, academic and project management sectors. Supporting SCJS activities is a network of subject-matter experts who are deployed as and when required. SCJS has established a Quality Management System (QMS), the scope of which is the delivery of capacity building initiatives aimed at strengthening the Rule of Law.
Sustainable Criminal Justice Solutions's role at DEFENSEFOOD
SCJS is the Project Coordinator of the DEFENSEFOOD project. Responsible for overall project coordination, governance, and compliance throughout the project. SCJS oversees project planning, monitoring, reporting, financial management, and communication with the European Research Executive Agency, ensuring alignment across all work packages. SCJS also coordinates the external Ethics Advisory Board and Security Advisory Board which provide advice and guidance in relation to ethical, legal, and security requirements.
